This past Tuesday night I had the honor of reading essays that were chosen to honor 60 people within the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center System. Despite rain in the forecast and Spring Break week, the room was packed with nearly 200 people as the nominees found out who had taken the time to write an essay about their good deeds and character. I called each person's name - the writer and the nominee. Each of them stood at the front of the room while the essay was read to be recognized. The essays were very well written and spoke to the many wonderful doctors, surgeons, nurses and general staff that spend so much time and effort helping patients and each other. I appreciated the opportunity to be a part of this special evening! The essays and pictures of those honored will be on display near the Dining Hall at Regional throughout the coming year if you'd like to read them! Here is the video that we showed during our newscast to recognize this event.
