Give Blood, Save Lives, Get Me Out of Jail...

A few weeks ago an email went out here at the station, looking for some volunteers to spend time at the Piedmont Blood Center's blood drive at Westgate Mall on Saturday, August 15. Sure...it's a great cause and I will probably be out that way anyway...I'll be there! Of course, it was after that commitment that I found out the hidden detail; we get "jailed" until a particular amount of donors come through.

The specific amount of donors requested isn't relevant; the amount needed is much higher than that. So if you can take some time this Saturday to be a donor, or at least get a friend, relative, or neighbor to come on out and participate, you'll have done your good deed for the day. And tell then that Dan Bickford sent you; credit is secondary to the cause here, but it never hurts!

Again, that's this Saturday August 15th at Spartanburg's Westgate Mall...from 9 AM to 5 PM. They should be set up near the Food Court.

For more information on the Piedmont Blood Center or on donations in general, click here.

By the way, I'll probably be there around 10 AM or so...until you get me out. (See Tom Crabtree's blog...I'm counting on him as one of my bail providers!)
