We are in the middle of our most intense run of heat and humidity of the summer…so far. There’s still a lot of summer to go; based on our “averages”, our hottest summer weather typically occurs from July 7 to August 4. These are the dates that have our highest average temperatures. After that, slowly losing minutes of daylight each day gradually take their toll, with the likelihood of seeing any extended runs of heat slowly diminishing with time as fall approaches.
Remember, it’s critical to ensure that everyone keeps themselves (and pets) as cool as possible so no heat-related effects are suffered. Plenty of water, plenty of shade, plenty of time indoors.
Now the bright side, at least from my perspective: this is the BEST time of year to have your hot water heater quit. If you’re stuck with a cold shower, at least it will be somewhat refreshing.
Even so, I probably should get that fixed…
