Here are three trends that indicate Senator Barack Obama is well on his way to becoming the next President of the United States:
- Former White House advisor Karl Rove has put out his final election forecast map and he believes Obama will cruise to a major victory.
Rove's election map gives Obama 338 electoral votes to 200 for Republican Senator John McCain. Rove says McCain will win North Carolina and Indiana and may still pull off Florida.
But Rove's election map gives Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia to the Democrats.
- Investors Business Daily was the most accurate poll of the 2004 election. Republicans have been hanging on the survey done by IBD and TIPP, which had the race at just two points with nearly nine percent of those surveyed undecided in their most recent survey.
But the IBD/TIPP final tracking poll extends Obama's lead Tuesday morning to over seven points at 51.5% to 44.3% for McCain.
- The Washington Redskins lost 23-6 at FedEx Field Monday night.
That would sound insignificant, until you take this into account: what the Redskins do in their final home game before the election has one amazing coincidence.
If the Redskins win, the incumbent party keeps The White House. If Washington loses, the presidency changes parties. The Redskins Rule has missed just one time - in 2004 - since 1936.
