Driving into the main News Channel 7 studio is pretty routine every morning except when it's on New Years morning. You're a little more cautious about other drivers, but traffic was pretty light this morning.
That part of the beginning of 2009 was uneventful.
Richard McCollough was in for Dan this morning on the weather. There was that moment in the 6:00am hour when I had to wave him over to the set like I was a crewman on the deck of the USS Nimitz trying to get Maverick back down in an F16 jet.
We had a little change that Richard wasn't aware of so it was a little obvious on the air. Keep in mind, Daybreak is a four-hour show and if you don't work the shift regularly the format could get confusing for anyone.
I'm 1-for-1 on the Question of the Day in 2009. I think I should quit and declare I have nothing left to prove by continuing to compete.
We started with the arrival of 2009 in Times Square this morning. We figure if you're up watching the news at 5:00am the chances are pretty good you were asleep at midnight, so here's what you missed.
And for those of you who were just getting home when Daybreak started: Happy New Year!
New Years Resolution #1: Never use the term skill set again, adopted just after 7:00am this morning.
