U.S. troops fighting insurgents Afghanistan may be facing weapons produced in America. (The New York Times)

A BMW spokesman says the company is in better shape than U.S. automakers to adopt new fuel guidelines from the Obama Administration. The X5 sport utility vehicle - produced at the plant in Greer - gets 26 miles per gallon. (Business Week)

Columbia native Charles Bolden visited with President Obama on Tuesday and may be the choice to run NASA. Bolden flew on four shuttle missions and the former astronaut served as mission commander twice.

The Senate approved the credit card bill that includes an amendment allowing loaded guns in national parks and wildlife refuges. Some folks are a little upset.

TRIP officials will release a report at 10:30am that evaluates roads and highways South Carolina. Roads in the worst condition and structurally unsound bridges will be highlighted. (Our sister station WBTW-TV)

The Southern Conference Baseball Tournament begins Wednesday morning at Fluor Field at the West End. There are four games on the schedule Wednesday including contests featuring Furman and Western Carolina.

AAA Carolinas is forecasting a five percent increase in travel for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
