Breaking Down Patrick Swayze's Career to Four Movies

To me, Patrick Swayze did one thing as an actor: he declared a clear difference between men and women. Women love Dirty Dancing and Ghost. Men love Road House and Point Break.

It was very sad to hear about the passing of actor Patrick Swayze after a two year battle with cancer.

There have been many tributes to the actor who brought so much attention to the Carolinas when he shot Dirty Dancing in the Lake Lure area in the 1980s.

To me, Patrick Swayze did one thing as an actor: he declared a clear difference between men and women.

Women love Dirty Dancing and Ghost.

Men love Road House and Point Break.

Guys go for the bouncer with the Ivy League education (Road House) and the surfer/bank robber (Point Break) over the dancer (Dirty Dancing) and the murdered husband who comes back to his wife (Ghost).

Women adore Ghost and can sing the Dirty Dancing soundtrack in their sleep. They fear dating or marrying guys who can quote Brodi or Dalton from Point Break and Road House.

A friend of mine on Twitter asked me to come up with the Top Ten Patrick Swayze movie lines. He made about 30 films, so I'm limiting myself to the four great movies in question. (Thanks to imdb.com)
