South Carolina Superintendent Dr. Jim Rex spoke to students, parents, teachers, administrators and community leaders Friday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School as part of “Catholic Schools Week” (January 25 through 31). He talked about the school's FISH philosophy. He spoke of how it's something from which we can all benefit.
FISH! Philosophy, from St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School's website:
1. Choose your attitude! Choose to put aside the grouchy, unhappy, uncooperative attitude and choose to be a happy person who is out to make the best of the day.
2. Be There! Pay attention to the people you are with. Give them your full attention and help them to know you care.
3. Make Someone’s Day! Look for ways to make someone's day better/happier. Sometimes it just takes a smile.
4. Play! Even at work it is important to enjoy what you are doing. Think of ways to play with the people you are working with. Tell a joke. Have lunch together.
As I am in different schools daily and have noticed many different motivational posters on the walls.
Would love to share some of your school mottos or mantras with others.
Let's hear 'em!
Have a good weekend...
Connie
