Prayers for Families at the Gulf Coast

In your prayers this weekend, I ask you to remember Kim and Jack Williams of Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Three years ago, their dream home was destroyed... leveled... by Hurricane Katrina. They lost nearly all their possessions. You may remember the special report photojournalist Jason Parker and I did, as we followed Linda and Jim Brown of Inman taking a vanload of supplies to their friends, the Williams. The destruction we witnessed was amazing, and we never got to see the worst of it in the New Orleans area.

They're still putting their lives back together, but from what I hear, doing okay. They're working and looking to the future.

That future is threatened now, as the Williams face the fury of Hurricane Gustav. The storm may take a similar path... with similar force... as Katrina.

I got a call this week from Jim Brown. He left a message that Kim and Jack asked for my prayers.

They would appreciate your prayers too... prayers for safety... that they and all other families in the Gulf could be spared the destructive force of the hurricane.

Thanks...
