You've got one month.
One month... to make sure you're eligible to vote in one of the most important elections of our time.
The deadline is October 4th. The election is November 4th.
And if this election doesn't inspire you to vote, brothers and sisters, I don't know what more can be done.
On one side, for the first time in U.S. history, an African-American man is the presidential nominee of a major political party. His running mate is a fellow U.S. Senator who has also run for president.
Another U.S. Senator is the other side's nominee. He is an ex-Vietnam prisoner of war.
And his running mate is a woman, a first for her party and only the second time in the country's history a woman has gotten this far on the political ladder.
Our country is at war, and the world is restless. The economy is ailing. Good jobs are needed badly. Everything essential has jumped in price.
The direction of our beloved country rides on this election.
I've told you before about the great personal importance my family and I place on voting.
I promise you, I'll be at my polling spot, God willing.
And I hope the parking lot is full and the lines are long.
It's our civic duty to vote. It's our privilege as citizens of this great country.
American blood has been shed around the world to win this right for us, and to protect it.
All we have to do now is make sure we are registered properly to vote.
And... on November -4th-... show up.
Is voting important to you... and why?
Please tell me about it by commenting on this blog.
