A local boy plans to celebrate his birthday by doing something special for animals.
And if you help him out, you'll get a piece of birthday cake.
My friend Petro Ramatanin, owner of the "Big Daddy's" restaurants in Spartanburg and Inman, let me know about this event.
For it to be a success, you need to get involved.
Here's the deal.
Kaleb Fowler is celebrating his seventh birthday this Saturday, February 20th.
Instead of asking for personal gifts, Kaleb wants you to join in his celebration by donating food for the animals at the Spartanburg Humane Society.
Kaleb wants you to bring dog/puppy food and cat/kitten food. Both dry and canned food are needed.
Bring your pet food donation to "Big Daddy's # 2" on Asheville Highway in Spartanburg this Saturday between 2:00 and 4:00 pm.
The restaurant is next door to Pizza Inn. Or ride to Farrell Chevrolet/Kia, and "Big Daddy's # 2" is just a bit farther down on the opposite side of the street. Or if you know how to find Cleveland Park, the restaurant is a couple blocks up on the same side of the street as the park.
One way or the other, you'll find it.
In exchange for your donation, you'll get a piece of Kaleb's birthday cake.
Save some for me, Kaleb, because I'm coming by.
With a donation, of course!
