Rural areas are shrinking every day. The burning of leaves and yard debris, like household trash, should be banned, particularly with the prevalence and convenience of landfills. My wife and I live in a wooded area, and the smoke from neighboring fires settles around us. The fresh air we have hoped to enjoy has become constantly polluted with the burning from our neighbors. Whatever burning rights they have under current laws are infringing upon our right to breathe unpolluted air. We are forced to stay inside because of this nuisance. We need laws to prevent this, and we need law enforcement to ensure it doesn't keep happening.
