Sonya Yvette Brown of Forest City, NC is the Caring for the Carolinas Award winner for the month of June.
Sonya turned the tragic death of her sister into something good for the community.
Her sister was gunned down by her Estranged husband, leaving behind four children.
Sonya has dedicated her time to helping take care of her sisters kids, operating a non-profit in here sister;s memory, volunteering with several organizations. and working as a full-time student.
Sonya says she will continue to do everything she can to make sure no one has to suffer like her sister did.
