Cross in the potato

I wonder if the potatoes was from the same brand? My sister, Linda was pealing and cutting up potatoes. After pealing and starting to cut up the potatoes she sliced though the middle. There was a cross. A big one on oneside and a smaller one on the other side. No marks on the outside to lead to it, only on the inside.Of course my sister couldn't bring herself to eat it so she has kept it and now not for sure she will do with it.Heres one side of her cross
