Recycle Your Junk; Trash Goes Green

»  Comments | Post a Comment

If you have junk around your house that you don't know what to do with, we have a way to take it off of your hands. Being environmentally friendly with your trash is important for the earth.

When you see this big green truck in your neighborhood, you know that someone is going green to save green. If you have large materials that need to be recycled, an Upstate company will take your junk off your hands.

It’s a typical day at the office for Dave Hennessy, which means being around a lot of junk.

“There's a few pieces of corrugated here we could take to a transfer station,” he says.

Upstate Junk is a green-friendly service that will take the stuff you don't want and put it to good use.

“We’ve taken yard debris from people, we’ve taken dirt we’ve taken gravel, air conditioning units, display stands old desks,” says Hennessy.

Dave's young company tries to make sure the trash you don't want stays out of the dump.

“Whatever we can do to keep it out of the landfill, it not only helps the environment, but also helps the community and reduces our costs.”

He says about 60 percent of the used items he picks up can be recycled.

“There are a lot of things that people just won’t take away and you hate seeing them on the side of the road in a lot of cases.”

From old computers, to refrigerators, Upstate Junk is definitely going green.

Upstate Junk does pick ups in neighborhoods from Anderson to Greenville to Spartanburg. If you would like more information, click on their website here.
