Americans are one of the biggest wasters in the entire world. We trash 40,000 plastic bottles and 50,000 plastic bags every minute. Recycling takes the same motion that throwing something away does. The easy way to change your habits is to put a couple of extra bags in the kitchen to separate your trash. Also, with these plastic bags, bring them back to the store and put them in the bins there...or buy a few reusable bags to do your shopping with.
We use 187,000 tons of paper every day. If we could change our ways, for every ton of paper we recycle, 17 trees are saved, continuing to soak up all of that carbon dioxide we are burning.
