Spending thousands of dollars and ripping up expensive landscaping. That's not the ideal way to have plumbing work done at your house. We have new trenchless technology that will have you saving green.
Using new technology to replace old sewer lines. This homeowner was able to save his landscaping and go green and save green at the same time.
“If you tear something up its never going to come back the way it was.”
That's what Geoff Herbert thought when he needed a new sewer line put in at his house.
“I had to get the main line of my sewer replaced because a leak had developed inside my basement due to the fact that the cast iron pipe had gotten old and rusted through,” explains Herbert.
In the past, plumbing companies would have to tear up a section of your yard to dig a trench and lay the new pipe.
“It was an extremely invasive process previous to us being able to do this.”
Chris Corley of Corley Plumbing now offers a service called trenchless pipe bursting.
“Pipe bursting is something we've done for a little over a year. We got into it because we recognized a need that we weren't able to fill by traditional trench excavation,” says Corley.
This new technology allows a company to dig a small hole on each side of the line, run a cable with the new pipe replacing the old one and leave your yard untouched.
“We can be in and out in a day and there is very little evidence that were even there.”
Leaving mature trees and grass in their natural state. That can save you money with newer longer lasting pipes and keeping nature in its place.
“Well, it was exciting that they didn't have to tear my yard up.”
And as for how his pipes work now...
“Everything seems to flow away,” says Herbert.
