Investigators are calling this a suspicious death, but for the family of John Costanza it's their worst fears come to life. The 25-year-old man was last seen at this apartment building early last Wednesday morning. His body was found about 100 feet in the woods behind the apartments.
Police say Costanza came to a friend's apartment around 3 am last Wednesday morning. He was wearing nothing but his boxer shorts and said he had been robbed, but then he refused his friend's help and left.
His family reported him missing late last week after they were unable to get in touch with him. Police determined he might not have made it far from his friend's apartment. They found his driver's license nearby and Wednesday afternoon they found his body. Officials say he was still wearing boxer shorts and it appears he had been beaten, but at this point they don't know if the injuries from the beating caused his death.
An autopsy scheduled for Thursday should provide police with some of those answers and they will know if he was murdered, or died due to something else.
