Seeds from Space Back in the Upstate!

The “Seeds from Space” are back in the Upstate and coming to a classroom near you! The Park Seed Company is a catalog seed business in Greenwood County that provident one million cinnamon basil seeds that NASA sent into space in July 2006. Those seeds returned to earth aboard “Endeavor” in August. Dr. Bill Kinard of NASA hand delivered the seeds to "Park Seed" so they can be packaged and shipped to classrooms across the country. A website will soon be set up with NASA where teachers can apply for the seeds. Meanwhile, you can find out more NASA’s “Seeds in Space” program.
