A school bus driver and five elementary students were sent to the hospital after an accident in Oconee County early Thursday morning.
The Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 7:00am on Austin Edwards Road near Highway 11.
Troopers say the driver lost control of the bus going around a curve, ran off the road and hit some trees.
The driver and five Walhalla Elementary School students were taken to Oconee Memorial Hospital. The students were treated for minor cuts and bruises and were released.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol has charged the driver Sara King, 66, of Walhalla with driving too fast for conditions. The Oconee County School District says King was treated and appeared to be doing all right.
