Spartanburg County Sheriff's deputies are trying to find the person who tried to steal an ATM from a bank overnight. The machine was left behind along with a big clue according to investigators.
Deputies were sent to the Spartan Federal Credit Union on Charisma Drive around 4:00am Friday morning.
The thief apparently tried to push or drag the ATM away with their vehicle, but only managed to push the machine across part of the parking lot. The bank machine was damaged and wires from it's location were pulled out of the ground.
Deputies tell us they should be able to track the thief because they left their vehicle tag at the scene.
