Regina Lambert, of the Piedmont Blood Center in Spartanburg, told us that the center was desperate to get more blood.
Due to the hot weather and gas prices, donation rates are very low, despite increased blood usage, Lambert stated in a press release. The center has issued an urgent plea, asking area residents to donate blood Tuesday.
The center will be open until 8 p.m. Tuesday. It is located at 175 Dunbar Street in Spartanburg, S.C.
Donors get a free T-shirt and refreshments.
