Jeffrey Scott Evans was sentenced to life Tuesday without parole for a May 2007 robbery at an Anderson County Goodwill store.
According to Solicitor Chrissy Adams, Evans robbed a cashier at knifepoint. Before this conviction, Evans had a record of four convictions, all for Armed Robbery and Burglary in the first degree.
Adams told us that based on his record, the 10th Circuit Solicitor's Office sought a sentence of life without parole.
After a day and a half trial, Evans was found guilty of Armed Robbery and Possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. The jury reached a verdict of guilty after about one hour. Judge Macaulay, who presided at trial, sentenced the defendant to life without parole.
