Greenville County deputies are searching for three men, who they say were involved in a carjacking early Thursday morning.
Officers were called to Hunter Park Apartments at 1201 Cedar Lane Road around 2:30am. A man and woman say they were sitting in a 2000 black Mercury Mountaineer in the parking lot of their apartment.
The couple says two men, wearing bandanas over their faces, came up to their vehicle. One of the men was carrying a rifle.
One suspect demanded money from the man through the driver's side window, while the other pointed the weapon at the woman. The man says he told the robbers he didn't have any money, but begged them not to hurt them because they had four children inside the apartment.
The man was ordered out of the vehicle and put the keys on the roof. The men left in the Mercury with a second vehicle that followed them. The victim says the second car was a 1990-1994 Dodge Stratus that was light brown or rusted.
The vehicles headed toward Highway 253 on Cedar Lane Road.
Deputies issued alerts for the vehicles and suspects and the stolen Mercury was found at 300 Furman Hall Road. Officers used dogs to try and find the men.
The victims could only give a limited description of the men who robbed them.
