Investigators say a Spartanburg man is refusing to give up his dog after they say he commanded his dog to attack a cat then bragged about it.
Investigators say the cat had multiple fractures in both hind legs, a deep puncture wound, multiple broken ribs and a broken pelvis as well as its entire tail ripped off of its body.
Witnesses say their neighbor, a man named Mark Fraher, was walking his Rodesian Ridgeback mix on a leash when he saw a cat in a neighbors yard.
Neighbors say the man told his dog to get the cat then they say he held his dog on the leash while his dog attacked it.
Afterwards they say he bragged about his dog being a cat killer and that the cat did not stand a chance.
Animal control investigators say they have not found the cats owner but someone obviously took care of the cat because it was well fed and groomed.
Investigators say the owner of the dog took off to Atlanta shortly after the attack with his dog.
He does have a warrant out on him.
He told cops over the phone this afternoon that he would give himself up on friday but he would not give up his dog.
The cat was humanly euthanized. The remains are being held at the Spartanburg Humane Sociey for a few days for a possible identification..
