Storm Team 7 told us that a tornado watch is in effect until 7 p.m. for all of Upstate South Carolina and part of northeastern Georgia.
Isolated tornadoes will be possible this afternoon and evening with any stronger storms that develop in the rainbands around the remnants of Tropical Storm Fay.
Also, a flash flood watch remains in effect through Wednesday morning, generally for areas North and West of I-85.
The threat for heavy rain continues, with some areas in the mountains and adjacent foothills possibly seeing an additional four to six inches of rain over the next 24 hours or so, with lesser amounts in the Upstate.
Locally heavy rain will be a threat even outside of the watch area. Clouds and rain will keep temperatures in check, but it will be muggy, according to Storm Team 7 Meteorologist Dan Bickford.
As this moisture starts to pull to our Northeast tomorrow, the threat for heavy rain should start to ease.
The chance of rain will decrease on Thursday, with mostly dry weather here for Friday.
A weak cold front could push through this weekend, providing a chance for a few isolated to widely scattered showers or thunderstorms over the weekend.
