Creature in Neighborhood

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A mystery is unfolding in a Spartanburg neighborhood after a woman finds her cat dead and a mailman catches a glimpse of a slithery creature.

It began Friday when Debra McBeth and Terrie Gooden found their cat dead in a neighbor's yard. Their neighbor told them he heard a commotion outside Thursday night but didn't see anything. The next morning he saw the dead cat and claw prints on the ground. "Alligator or big lizard," Gooden guessed.

McBeth and Gooden thought their imaginations were running wild until their mailman told them he saw something he will never forget on Saturday. "This big lizard animal thing just came passed down him," McBeth said.

The mailman told News Channel 7 the animal looked like a large iguana.

Gooden and McBeth say they will be watching every step they take until someone catches the creature. "I like to find it before it finds me," Gooden said.

Animal Control is investigating.
