The Renfro plant in Whitmire will close on Jan. 30.
Renfro announced Tuesday afternoon it will be closing its Whitmire plant on January 30th.
The plant employs around 570 people and 40 percent of them live in Whitmire.
The South Carolina manufacturing plant is one of the biggest employers in the county, and makes and distributes men's, ladies, and children's socks.
Renfro has more than 5,200 employees worldwide.
