After being under a severe weather watch for most of Thursday, the Weather Service cancelled all watches in the Upstate and in Western North Carolina on Thursday afternoon, at about 3pm.
The Weather Service has, however, issued a winter weather advisory for Avery, Madison, Yancey, Mitchell, Swain, Haywood, Buncombe, Graham, Northern Jackson, Macon and Southern Jackson Counties from 7pm Thursday to 7am Friday.
These counties can expect snow in higher elevation areas.
