While arresting an Abbeville County fugitive, Anderson County deputies managed to shut down a meth house in the process.
Anderson County deputies, working with Abbeville County deputies, say they went to an Anderson residence looking for Shannon Martin Fields, wanted by the Abbeville County Sheriff’s office. They were also investigating a stolen truck, guns and other equipment.
While questioning a woman that answered the door, deputies say Fields attempted to escape out the back, but couldn’t because of the officer presence there.
Deputies say the woman allowed them in to apprehend Fields, who had moved to the front room of the home.
After apprehending Fields, deputies questioned the woman, who said her name was April Stewart.
While searching Fields, deputies say they found an ID card belonging to the woman in his pocket.
The ID card stated the woman was Amy Michelle Strickland.
After finding the ID card, deputies say they put Strickland under arrest for misrepresentation of identity to law enforcement.
Deputies say they searched the residence and found a pipe and a white powder substance which was later identified as methamphetamines.
Strickland was charged with – in addition to misrepresentation of identity – operating a drug house and possession with the intent to distribute meth.
