Train Hits, Kills Piedmont Man Lying on Railroad Tracks

The Greenville County Coroner's Office has identified the man who was killed when he was hit by a train, while apparently lying on railroad tracks Thursday night.

A 34-year old Piedmont man was killed when he was hit by a train, while apparently lying on the railroad tracks.

Kevin Bayne was killed on Thursday night. Kylie Strange, from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, says Bayne's listed residence was hit mother's home on Camden Street, but he rarely stayed there.

Bayne was struck and killed on railroad tracks near South Washington Street in Greenville Thursday night. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office says he was lying in the middle of the tracks when a train came upon him about 6:30pm.

The engineer saw the man and attempted to stop, but ran over the individual. Investigators are trying to determine if Bayne was sleeping on the tracks, or was intoxicated.

An autposy is scheduled.
