Teachers are the key to a putting South Carolina at the top of national education report released today. Each year the magazine "Education Week" ranks and rates education performance and policymaking in its "Quality Counts" report card.
This year South Carolina ranks number one in its efforts to attract, develop and keep the best teachers possible. The Palmetto State received a B- score overall, performing better than the national "C" average, which is where North Carolina fell.
Massachusetts earned the only A. Washington, DC and Mississippi were among the lowest scores with a D+.
