5-Year-Old Kindergarten And First Grade Registration Extended Through Thursday, January 24

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Greenville, SC – Parents are reminded to register their children for five-year-old kindergarten or first grade for the 2008-2009 school year by Thursday, January 24, 2008 at their local school.

The deadline to register has been extended three days due to snow on January 17.

Children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2008 must enroll in public or private kindergarten, unless the parent or legal guardian signs a waiver. Greenville County Schools offer full-day, five-year-old kindergarten programs to all students.

Students must turn five years old (for 5K) or six years old (for 1st grade) on or before September 1, 2008 to enter each respective program. To enroll a new student, a parent or guardian must go to their assigned school and present the following:

·        Birth Certificate

·        Immunization Certificate or Religious Objector’s Statement

·        Proof of Residence (Example – a current power bill)

Parents of students assigned to Rudolph Gordon Elementary may register at their current (2007-08) school.

If a parent does not know the assigned school, he/she may call INFOLine at 355-3100 or log onto our website at www.greenville.k12.sc.us and click on “Find Your School.”
