The push to save
Last month students walked out in protest after the board said finances are among the reasons it voted to close the school.
The mayor is on the agenda at Tuesday night’s meeting and is expected to ask the board to reverse its decision to close the high school. The executive director of the South Carolina Association of Public Charter High Schools is also slated to discuss the possibility of starting a charter school.
Superintendent Dr. Ivan Rudolph says the district has no intention of reversing its decision.
A resident who planned to participate in a protest tonight tells us it will not take place because a permit was not applied for in advance.
