A pit bull mauls a neighbor's dog, but both dog owners will have to pay a fine.
It happened Wednesday night on Broadview Drive in Spartanburg. Animal control officers say the owner of a pit bull was cleaning out the dog's kennel when the dog ran through the open gate and attacked a neighbor's chihuahua. The little dog was badly injured, suffering a punctured lung. Animal control officers fined both dog owners for not restraining their pets, because the chihuahua was not inside a fence or on a leash.
The pit bull has been released back to its owner.
