Anderson police are looking for clues that would identify the person who might have found reason to hit the road after stealing items worth about $40,000 from a resident, according to reports from News Channel 7 partner the Anderson Independent-Mail.
A 37-year-old resident of Elliot Circle told police that thieves entered a Chevrolet truck that was parked in his driveway, stealing a $500 Garmin Navigator, sunglasses valued at $260, a $300 radar detector, a $800 diamond ring and a $600 cellular phone. The alleged victim could not remember if his truck had been locked between Friday and Saturday, according to the report.
Officer Christopher Getsinger said, “I did not notice any forced entry into the vehicle,” which was not stolen.
The thieves also found easy entry into the man's garage, removing golf clubs valued at $2,500 and a 1996 Harley Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle, valued at $35,000, the report states.
