Anderson police report a theft of catalytic converters from two parked trucks while the owners worked in Anderson.
It's the eighth such reported theft from a parked vehicle in Anderson County in less than a month.
A $300 theft from an Anderson man's truck was reported between 6 a.m. July 17 and 7:30 p.m. July 17 on East River Street.
Between 5 p.m. July 17 and midnight July 18, thieves struck the second parked truck on East Greenville Street, police said.
A Columbia man said he parked behind a Citgo gas station while working. The loss is estimated at $350.
According to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, a theft from two Jeeps took place at the Union Baptist Church between 8 a.m. July 12 and 10:15 a.m. July 14 on Barnes Station Road in Iva.
The Jeep owners were on a trip sponsored by the church, according to the incident report.
The converters, which were stolen from a 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport and a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, are valued at $250 each.
In late June, thieves entered a secured parking lot and removed the catalytic converters from four vehicles belonging to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
The $3,200 theft took place at 2514 E. River St. in Anderson.
The converters were removed from two 2003 Chevrolet Silveradoes, a 1999 Dodge Ram and a 2000 Ford Ranger, the report states.
At the time, health department officials reported $1,000 in damage to a Silverado's gas tank and $200 in damage to a fence.
