Showers and thunderstorms will fire up once again Tuesday evening with hot temperatures and high humidity. A few of the storms will be strong to severe and occasional severe thunderstorm warnings could be issued by the National Weather Service through the evening hours. The main threat from any severe storms will be damaging wind gusts with the possibility of penny-sized hail.
Chief Meteorologist Christy Henderson says that this unsettled weather pattern will stay with us through Thursday with the best chance of rain Wednesday and Thursday expected to be in the afternoon hours. After Thursday the weather will dry out again. The rain deficit for 2008 at GSP stands at 10.63” below average.
