Spartanburg County emergency dispatchers say a spill in the downtown area Wednesday morning turned out to be harmless and traffic is flowing on the streets.
Spartanburg Public Safety officers and firefighters were at the scene at West Main Street and St. John street after 7:15am.
Dispatch says a waste management truck picked up a dumpster from the Spartanburg soup Kitchen. Some of the fluids from the dumpster leaked onto the road, causing the concern.
An official from the Department of Health and Environmental Control came to the scene to inspect the spill. Thos downtown Spartanburg streets are now back open.
