In the busy-ness of life sometimes it’s the smallest of people who teach us the biggest lessons!
Take my Gracie, for example, just before she turned three. That's when she went roller-skating for the first time.
We strapped on those plastic little skates to her shoes and off she went.
She was wiping out left and right. Knocked right off her feet. You and I might be crying, feeling sorry for ourself, or thinking about the bruises that would soon appear.
But not little Gracie. Every time she took a fall, she’d plop to the floor, use her little arms to support herself, look up at me, and she’d start to laugh.
Not just a giggle or a smile.
Serious laughter. Belly busting laughter. I laughed too. And instantly, I admired her.
It was an important reminder for me to do the same thing, the next time I take a tumble in life.
The next time things don’t go my way. The next time failure slaps me across the face. Remember to laugh.
And then get up and try again!
