RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - It's just one day before North Carolina's primary, and the candidates and their families are making stops all over the state.
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton will be in Greenville and High Point, while former President Bill Clinton planned a nine-stop tour through eastern North Carolina.
Barack Obama will be in Durham today, holding a discussion about jobs and the economy. Obama's wife Michelle plans events in Fayetteville and Charlotte.
And not to be outdone, the likely Republican candidate, Sen. John McCain, will speak at a meeting of Charlotte's chamber of commerce today, followed by a speech tomorrow at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.
Bill Clinton In Elizabeth City
At his first stop on a long day of campaigning in North Carolina, Bill Clinton told voters in Elizabeth City that his wife is still in the race for president because of the support of rural America.
Clinton is on a nine-city tour of North Carolina, and will travel to small towns in the eastern part of the state before ending his day in Raleigh.
His wife, Democratic presidential contender Hillary Rodham Clinton, is also in North Carolina. She's making stops Tuesday in Greenville and High Point.
Bill Clinton was greeted with a standing ovation by an enthusiastic crowd of about 300 at Elizabeth City State University, telling them, "You all sit down or I'll think I had a constant standing ovation."
