A driver and his passenger were taken by surprise early Monday morning in downtown Greer by a man in the roadway wieding a knife.
According to Greer Police Manuel Flores was driving down North Line Street about 1 AM when a black male walked in front of his car. Flores stopped and when he realized the suspect wanted his vehicle, Flores put up some resistance.
The suspect reached in the car for a weapon and reportedly hit Flores with his own baseball bat.
Flores was taken to the hospital and no information is available on his condition.
Lt. Matt Hambry with the Greer police department says right now no information is available on the suspect.
