Three people died in an early morning fire in Haywood County according to Haywood County Sheriff Tom Alexander. The fire was reported at 3:18am this morning at 172 Pisgah Creek Road in Canton. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Sheriff Alexander tells News Channel 7 bodies of one adult and two juveniles were found after the firefighters put the fire out. The bodies have been sent to Winston Salem for identification. The sheriff says this process could take up to 72 hours.
The State Bureau of Investigation, the Haywood County Fire Marshal, and the Haywood County Sheriff's office continue to investigate.
