GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - One person is dead and three people were hurt when what the National Weather Service now says was an EF3 tornado moved through central North Carolina late last night.

Guilford County Emergency Services spokesman Alan Perdue says a person died in a small truck in a parking lot near Triad Park. He says none of the other injuries appeared to be life-threatening. One of the people was hurt when the wall of a building collapsed.

The storm was reported about 11:30 near Interstate 40 and N.C. 68 near the Piedmont Triad International Airport.

The Highway Patrol says three tractor-trailer rigs overturned. Perdue says officials are waiting for daylight to get better view of the damage and to determine if anyone else was hurt.

Officials also reported structural damage in Forsyth and Davie counties.
