A fire reported on Angie Drive in Taylors damaged a home Monday morning, according to fire officials on the scene.
Taylors Fire Chief Bobby Baker said they don't know what caused the fire at this time. The only casualty of the fire was a family pet, a chihuahua. Fire Chief Bobby Baker said firefighters attempted to revive the animal by giving the dog oxygen.
Because of the magnitude of the fire it may take some time to determine the cause. It is not believed to be suspicious.
He said people in the home and neighbors say they heard some explosions. He said the explosions could have come from several sources in the garage such as aerosol cans, paint cans, gas cans or even tires on the vehicles exploding.
The Greenville County Sheriff's Office tells us they sent investigators to the scene.
