Ashland Incorporated announced plans for a $12.5 million expansion to their facility in Piedmont, but the company won't be adding any new jobs.
The chemical company will invest that money into the Greenville County plant over the next five years.
Ashland spokesman Jim Vitak says this is a commitment to the 50 workers already in place with the company here, but adds it's possible that new jobs could follow.
The Piedmont plant supports the pressure-sensitive adhesives business of Ashland Performance Materials.
"This plan will markedly improve our new manufacturing facility in Greenville County," said Dave Drummond, director of global operations for the Performance Materials division of Ashland in a written statement.
