The Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 16-year-old, originally classified as a runaway, but now considered by the office to be endangered.

Ryan Pate ran away from the Carolina Spring Academy in Abbeville County on Nov. 14, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

He was last seen on Due West Highway in Anderson.

Pate had previously mentioned to others he might hitchhike to Florida or North Carolina.

The teen is described as 130 lbs, shaved head, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a blue, light jacket with a hood, a white T-shirt, blue jeans and black Chuck Taylor shoes.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office search team is assisting Abbeville County at a location on Due West Highway where Pate was last seen.

Anyone with information on Pate’s whereabouts is asked to call the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office at 864-446-6050.
