Gas prices in the Upstate are at a four year low. They haven't been this cheap since March of 2005. The South Carolina average has dropped 89 cents in just the past month.
Back in September of this year, gas prices rose to $4.11 per gallon for regular unleaded. Now, only two months later, prices have dropped more than half.
The cost savings may surprise you. If you fill up 15 gallons a week, you save more than $30 a fill up. Over a month, that can add up to an extra $136 in your pocket.
A spokesperson for AAA tells says that these prices could still go down even lower while we are in this economic downturn. However, he warns, these low prices won't stay this way forever.
