Woman Reports Gunpoint Robbery At Stop Sign

A Forest City woman said a gun was put to her head at a Chesnee stop sign while her three children were in the car.

Spartanburg County deputies told us Monday that a woman filed a report for robbery after she said a man put a gun to her head and stole her purse when she stopped at the intersection of Georgia and Manning in Chesnee.

The crime happed on Friday night. The victim said that when she stopped at the intersection a man grabbed her hair, put a gun to her head and demanded her purse.

After the victim gave him her purse, the suspect walked away on foot. The crime was reported on Sunday at the Sheriff's Office. She told police she didn't report it sooner because her cell phone was dead.

He made away with some cash, bills, various IDs for her and her children, keys and medications.

The suspect is described as a 6', 185 lb, black man with a Duke University hat, black jeans, white T-shirt and a thin tattoo around his left wrist.
