Everyone always talks about cutting back during hard times and for many that may be that morning cup of joe or the more expensive coffee drink.
So we spoke to the owner of an Anderson coffee shop, who is also a wholesale provider of coffee beans to other businesses.
He says just the opposite.
He told us that with people cutting back on bigger ticket items, like vacations, or waiting until later to buy a new car, it seems like they’re trying to retain some small comfort in keeping their morning coffee.
So, at this point, his business is not being impacted by consumer concerns over the economy. He does say in his own life though, his family has cut back in other ways.
We also spoke to a college student, trying to line up a job, and a man looking toward retirement.
Both say they’re cutting back trying to prepare for what ever fallout there is -- even things like eating out.
But, both say they wouldn’t stop spending a couple of dollars on coffee.
